
Center Ethanol Company LLC ("Center Ethanol") was established in 2006 for the purpose of constructing an ethanol plant in the city of Sauget, Illinois on approximately 57 acres of land strategically located with access to road, river and rail transportation systems.
Construction began in October of 2006 and production began in April of 2008. Forty employees work at the plant which is operational about 355 days per year on a 24 hour basis.
Using approximately 19.2 million bushels of corn annually, the plant is expected to produce approx. 54 million gallons per year of ethanol. In addition, saleable byproducts of 172,000 tons of dry distillers grain ("DDGs") and 1.5 million gallons of corn oil.
The plant is engineered for expansion of production to 108 million gallons of ethanol per year. In addition, Center Ethanol is exploring additional biofuels opportunities in the marketplace.
Center Ethanol is owned by a small, diverse group of owners with wide ranging expertise. The expertise includes wholesale and retail distribution of refined oil products, corn production and storage, construction, real estate development, speculative investment, and other business ventures.
